It's easy to forget that living in Chico, we are all part of a community that thrives on interaction and helping one another. If volunteer work isn't already part of your life, it's hard to know where or how to start. So we're going to make it easy. This month, just try volunteering for something. It can be a single day, even just a few hours, but make a commitment to put it on your calendar and give it a try. You might find that you get just as much out of it as those that you're helping.

Downtown Chico is a great place to grab lunch, shop, or meet friends for happy hour. For those lucky enough to live in a Chico apartment within walking distance to downtown, parking probably isn’t an issue, but there are a limited number of apartments that close. Sometimes, especially when all the Chico State students are in town, it can be a challenge to find parking. If you just head blindly into downtown you might get lucky, but odds are you are going to circle the block a few times searching for a spot close to your destination and then have to backtrack and look farther out.
