One of the best things about the fall season is getting to watch the leaves change colors. Chico isn’t called the City of Trees for nothing, there are so many places you can go to enjoy the fall colors.
It’s still a little early for the colors to change, but when it hits the middle of October you'll know all the best spots to see all the oranges, yellows, and reds... allowing you to cross off "see the fall colors" on your fall themed bucket list!

Late summer and early fall are a great time to go camping near Chico. The weather starts to cool down and the nights get crisp and perfect for gathering around a campfire. Make sure you prepare for your camping trip, and that means more than packing supplies. Do your homework and pick your campsite carefully. Campsites that are too small and cramped close together are not fun. Facilities that don't have potable water or toilets are only fun for hard-core campers that come prepared. Make sure you pick a site that fits your needs and level of outdoors experience.

Are you looking for the definitive Chico selfie spot? Are you all dressed up, with your hair just right and your "Blue Steel" look rehearsed and perfected? What background is going to help you up your selfie game and get your profile pic to the next level? We have the answers...
First things first - let's set some ground rules. Getting caught taking a selfie is embarrassing, or at least it should be. It's an expression of vanity, or at least that's the perception. If you're going to take a selfie in a popular spot, go early before it gets busy. Also, morning and/or evening light is more flattering than when the sun is directly overhead. Don't overdo the look; no pouty-lip duck faces or trying to flex too hard, it makes you look sad and desperate. Please avoid selfie sticks at all costs.

It may be hard to believe, since this year's fire season and air quality is worse than last year, but cooler weather [and hopefully clearer air] is on the horizon.
The first day of fall falls [see what we did there?] on a Saturday this year, the 22nd. Therefore, fall is right around the corner and everyone is anxious to pull out their cozy cardigans and boots. Especially since Starbuck's Pumpkin Spice Latte, which usually lets everyone know it's time for fall, arrived way early this year.

There's no shortage of things to do in Chico, whether you want to take a hike in Upper Bidwell Park or go window shopping downtown. Yet, like most people, when we have a long list of things we can do with our friends and loved ones we tend to forget about the simplistic activities that also bring us a sense of happiness.
